Abstract
INTRODUCTION The intra-uterine contraceptive device one of the Long - Long-acting reversible Contraception (LARC) is a safe and highly effective method of birth control for most females. The ideal time of insertion of IUD after cesarean section is a conflicting issue, some gynecologists prefer inserting IUDs during cesarean section soon after removal of the placenta, As IUD can decrease the rate of unintended pregnancy if initiated soon postpartum.IUD insertion while still in the delivery room is known as post-placental insertion (insertion of the IUD within 10 minutes). While other gynecologists prefer to insert IUDs at an interval of (42 days) at the end of puerprium or six months after cesarean section, most of them insert IUDs after three months from cesarean section. Evaluation of a woman with a symptomatic IUD is done by transvaginal ultrasound to exclude malposition and other complications.3d ultrasound is more accurate because it can locate the entire IUD in a volume.
AIM OF THE WORK
Was to assess the site, position, and complications of IUD inserted during cesarean section.
