Abstract
Health services in Egypt are provided through public, private and charity medical channels. Refugees and asylum seekers have the access to the national health care system which was strengthened with the signing of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) memorandum of understanding in October 2016, which aimed at enhancing access of all nationalities to emergencies, primary and secondary health care.
Aim of the work:
The aim of this study was to reveal the refugees and asylum seekers knowledge about their accessibility to the different health care services provided at the governmental family settings in Alexandria. In addition, it aims at revealing their utilization of these services and identifying the barriers for them against receiving health care.Subjects and Methods
Research design
A cross-sectional design was conducted to achieve the study objectives.
Research setting
The study was conducted at refugees gathering places that are affiliated to Caritas Egypt; non-governmental organization (NGO) in Alexandria.
